What happens when I become a Journeyperson?

There are several opportunities for work across Canada, and several positions allow you to see and experience many different parts of the country, and the world!

Becoming a Journeyperson is not much different than completing a college or university education, in that your "Ticket" is not unlike any other degree or diploma. The key difference is that learning to become a Journeyperson is a lot less expensive because you get paid while you learn. For some, on-the-job learning is the best way to learn, versus textbooks and theory, and for these individuals success is largely attributed to how they learn.

Is there anything more to learn after I become a Journeyperson?

Being a Journeyperson for some Tradespeople is satisfying on its' own. However, some choose to continue their studies and training to become a Master of their trade. Again, much like College or University, Tradespeople have a Master Level of study and training.

Master Training, much like an Apprenticeship, is comprised of a period of hours spent on the job and within a classroom environment, and writing an examination. Once a Journeyperson becomes a Master, they recieve even higher pay grades, and higher demand for advanced skills. In most cases, this level enables them to start up their own companies that higher Apprentices and Journeypersons.
